Grandstream GWN7831 Layer 3 Switch – 24×SFP + 4×10G SFP+ Enterprise Aggregation Switch
The Grandstream GWN7831 is a Layer 3 managed aggregation switch with 24 SFP ports and 4 SFP+ uplinks, designed for enterprise fiber networks and scalable infrastructure.
Description
The Grandstream GWN7831 Layer-3 Aggregation Managed Network Switch is a high-performance enterprise switch built to support scalable, secure, and high-speed fiber networking environments. As part of the GWN7830 series, it is designed for medium-to-large businesses, data centers, and campus networks that require advanced routing and aggregation capabilities.
This switch is equipped with 24 Gigabit SFP ports, 4 × 10Gbps SFP+ uplink ports, and 4 Gigabit RJ45/SFP combo ports, providing flexible connectivity for both fiber and copper networks. This makes it ideal for aggregation layers, backbone connections, and high-speed uplinks between switches and servers.
With a switching capacity of up to 128Gbps and a forwarding rate of approximately 95 Mpps, the GWN7831 ensures smooth and efficient handling of heavy traffic loads in enterprise environments.
As a Layer 3 managed switch, it supports advanced routing and network control features, including:
- Static and dynamic routing
- VLAN segmentation (up to 4000 VLANs)
- QoS (Quality of Service) for traffic prioritization
- IGMP/MLD snooping for multicast optimization
Security is enterprise-grade, featuring:
- ARP Inspection
- IP Source Guard
- DHCP snooping
- DoS protection
- Port security
These features protect networks against internal threats and unauthorized access.
The GWN7831 supports multiple management options, including:
- Web-based UI (embedded controller)
- CLI (command-line interface)
- Cloud management via GWN.Cloud
- On-premise management via GWN Manager
This flexibility allows IT teams to manage networks centrally across multiple locations.
Additionally, the switch supports stacking, enabling multiple devices to function as a single logical unit, improving scalability and redundancy. It also supports redundant power supply, ensuring continuous operation in mission-critical environments.
With its combination of high port density, 10G uplinks, Layer 3 routing, and advanced security, the Grandstream GWN7831 is a powerful and cost-effective solution for enterprise aggregation and backbone networking.
